Football tips today for Bayer L – Hertha

Bayer Leverkusen are still moving towards their primary goal for the season – to finish in Top 4 and return to the Champions League. Die Werkself are currently third in the standings with 48 points which puts them three points ahead of the 4th RB Leipzig. That’s a good place to be, but they still have a job to do.

Before the break Leverkusen celebrated their 14th win for the season. The former Champions League finalists faced Wolfsburg away from home and celebrated a 2-0 win at the Volkswagen Arena. It’s a curious fact that they scored both goals in the last few minutes of the game. Paulinho became the hero for Leverkusen as he scored both goals. The Brazilian winger came in from the bench and made a memorable performance.

Leverkusen’s main problem remains the injury of the star striker Patrik Schick. The Czech international is recovering from injury which is not good for the team. Schick has scored 20 goals in the league so far which makes him a player to watch.

Hertha BSC are having a season to forget – their main goal now is to survive. The Old Lady is 16th in the standings with 26 points and just one point separates them from the 17th Arminia. They need to work very hard if they want to secure survival.

In the previous round Hertha at least managed to stop their run of consecutive losses. They did it in the debut game of the new head coach Felix Magath. Hertha hosted Hoffenheim at home and made a great game to win with 3-0. Let’s see if Magath could actually revive the team.
